NAC Launches 2030 Corporate Strategy Plan
On Thursday, 24 August 2017, NAC held its 3rd Quarter Town Hall that marked an important day as it launched its NAC 2030 Corporate Strategy Plan. For NAC, this is the first of its kind to be published and launched.
The event was held at International Terminal Building (ITB), attended by approximately 200 guests. We were blessed to have the presence of our two Civil Aviation Ministers, (outgoing Civil Aviation Minister and Member for Esa’ala and the current Minister for Justice and Attorney General Hon. Davis Steven and the incoming Civil Aviation Minister and Member for Kandep Hon. Alfred Manase). Other Dignitaries that attended the event were Secretary for Transport, Secretary Roy Mumu, First Secretary to the Minister for Transport, Mr Thomas Nori, CEOs and MDs of International, Local and other stakeholder organisations, management and staff of NAC.
Over the past 5 to 6 years, we have not had a plan to work towards and guide us, we have been operating without even knowing where we were heading to. This strategy document is what we have put together to give us some sense of direction and milestone dates to work towards and achieve.
This also marked a significant occasion for our former Civil Aviation Minister and the current Minister for Justice and Attorney General Hon. Davis Steven to hand-over take-over to the incoming Minister Hon. Alfred Manase. This would have happened at the Aviation Conference in Kokopo but due to time constraints for the two Ministers, this did not eventuate. However, the Town Hall was a great opportunity for the former CA Minister and current Minister for Justice & Attorney General Hon. Davis Steven to give his transitory remarks.
One of the important points mentioned is having a good core airport system that drive seamless facilitation of clients and user friendly to the operators and also having the ability to capture data for planning and forecasting future airport, airline and CA developments. This is about having data readily available and also accessible to all in the aviation and government and partners.
The NAC Corporate Strategy Plan is a living document that will be updated as we progress in our journey to change. All staff were encouraged to understand their roles and realign their activities to make our dream a reality for the organisation and also the country as a whole. In the coming days, a team from the senior management and next level officers will go out and conduct awareness on our - Vision, Core Values and Core Behaviour and our distinct strengths as an organization.
