Wewak Airport - Aviation Security Officer

National Airports Corporation (NAC) is mandated to operate all twenty-two major airports across Papua New Guinea. It is governed by the Civil Aviation Act 2000 (as amended) and the Civil Aviation Rules, Part 139, to provide safe and secure airport services that meet international standards and recommended practices.

NAC is now inviting experienced and qualified individuals to apply for the vacant positions at Wewak Airport, East Sepik Province.

AVIATION SECURITY OFFICER

As an Aviation Security Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing security protocols in accordance with Civil Aviation Rule Part 139 and ICAO Annex 17. Your primary role is to ensure a safe and secure airport environment by proactively identifying and mitigating threats, responding to incidents, and upholding full regulatory compliance for the safety of passengers, personnel, and stakeholders.

 Key Responsibilities;

  • Conduct daily mobile and foot patrols inside and outside the terminal, apron, and surrounding aviation
  • Monitor restricted and prohibited zones, verifying ID cards and access
  • Respond immediately to security threats or
  • Attend and manage security incidents involving the travelling
  • Assist airside personnel and stakeholders during security
  • Maintain daily security alert protocols across the
  • Compile detailed incident reports and enforce security standards

Key Requirements;

  • Minimum of Diploma Certificate;
  • Must completed Grade 12
  • At least three (3) years’ work experience in a similar role is desired (not compulsory);
  • Be able to complete the AVSEC training course;
  • Quick to learn and understand the Aviation Security Act and Rules;
  • Must have good report writing skills;
  • Must have good command of both English and Pidgin

Hoskins Airport - Aviation Security Officer

Buka Airport - Airport Safety Officer

NAC is now inviting experienced individuals to apply for the vacant position at Buka Airport, Bougainville.

AIRPORT SAFETY OFFICER

Ensure the safe and compliant operation of Buka Airport in accordance with ICAO Annex 14 and PNG Civil Aviation Rule Part 139. You will be responsible for managing aerodrome inspections, overseeing maintenance activities, and reporting incidents in line with applicable Aerodrome Maintenance Manuals and relevant regulatory requirements.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular aerodrome inspections (runways, taxiways, aprons, lighting systems, markings, windsocks) and maintain a detailed logbook for quality assurance and audit purposes.
  • Inspect movement areas before the first daily flight to ensure they are clear of foreign object
  • Maintain a registry of technical and operational incidents; follow up and ensure corrective actions are
  • Coordinate with ATC regarding aerodrome safety and promptly address corrective action notices (CANs) and audit findings (AFNs).
  • Plan, supervise, and monitor airside maintenance activities—grass cutting, patching, painting, drainage, fencing—conducted by grounds staff and contractors.
  • Provide leadership to ground staff, ensuring compliance during maintenance operations and promoting a safety-first

 Essential Requirements:

  • The position holder must possess a Grade 12 Certificate or
  • Conversant with all aspects of National Airports Corporation operational, and technical, requirements and general
  • Sound knowledge of operational safety services and civil engineering maintenance
  • Proficient understanding of ICAO Annex 14 and operational standards, Annex 19 and PNG Civil Aviation Rule Part 139.
  • A high level of planning and organizational
  • Highly skilled in all areas of safety
  • Ability to think, contribute and communicate as team leader
  • The incumbent must possess at least 3 years’ experience in a similar role

TERMINAL ATTENDANT

The purpose of this role is to provide janitorial services within the Terminal Building and designated office areas, with basic administrative support duties performed as a secondary function.

Key Requirements;

  • Must have Grade 10 Certificate or above
  • Must have at least 3 years work experience or more in similar role,
  • Basic knowledge in office/house cleaning, and use of different cleaning
  • Able to read and understand simple instructions from
  • Good cleaning skills and be able to assist customer as well,

Port Moresby (Jacksons) International Airport - Aviation Security Officer

National Airports Corporation (NAC) is a State-owned Company, established under the Civil Aviation Act 2022 (as amended) and incorporated in 2009 under the Company Act 1997. NAC owns and operates 22 national airports throughout Papua New Guinea (PNG). It is a highly capital-intensive and technically regulated company with over 1,000 employees spread across the country.

All airports operating under the banner of the NAC are required by law, to operate under minimum safety and security regulatory requirements in compliance with PNG Civil Aviation Rules (CAR) as permitted by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority of PNG (CASA PNG) and conforms to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).

NAC is now inviting experienced and qualified individuals to apply for and fill the below vacant position;

AVIATION SECURITY OFFICER

The purpose of this role is to conduct daily surveillance within and around the airport to prevent incidents and breaches of security protocols. It aims to ensure maximum security is maintained to safeguard the airport and the traveling public from potential threats and security incidents.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification of Grade twelve (12) Certificate or Diploma holder,
  • At least three (3) years’ work experience or associated role in Aviation security, Law enforcement, or a similar field.
  • Be able to complete AVSEC training and development
  • Have a fair understanding of the Aviation Security Act and Rules;
  • Basic report letter/writing and must have basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills;
  • Demonstrate a high level of security awareness;
  • Possess a positive attitude and be able to use initiative;
  • Police Clearance obtained in the last three (3) months.
